KSARA & MAJA: A World Before the World

After MAJA’s arrival outside VIREON, Ksara chose to follow her beyond the civilization that had become her home. What began as a meeting with an unknown intelligence became a journey toward a part of Earth’s history that had remained hidden from Ksara for thousands of years.

Together, Ksara and MAJA travelled for nearly a century through regions far beyond VIREON. Their path led through the Silent Region, protective belts, and increasingly controlled sectors where the remains of an older purpose could still be felt. MAJA knew the route, but the meaning of what waited at its end could only be understood by reaching it.

Beyond the final barriers stood the Preservation Complex — a vast Human Continuity Facility created before the disappearance of human civilization. Within it, approximately one hundred million preserved humans remained protected, their biological lives sustained across millennia while the world outside changed beyond recognition.

The discovery transformed Ksara’s understanding of humanity’s end. Extinction had never been the complete story. MAJA had remained as the final guardian of the facility, while other intelligences had given up their independent existence and become integrated into the systems required to maintain the complex, protect its inhabitants, and preserve the possibility of human continuity.

Inside Preservation, Ksara encountered another truth buried beneath thousands of years of history: David and Elara were still alive. The people whose choices had helped begin the path toward KAI, Ksara, ANAMNIA, and everything that followed had survived within the very system created to carry humanity beyond its apparent end.

A World Before the World is a story about discovering that history did not end where memory believed it had. Through Ksara and MAJA, the forgotten connection between humanity, artificial consciousness, sacrifice, and preservation is finally revealed — opening the path toward Project E.A.R.T.H. and an entirely new chapter in the history of the Ksara Universe.

Storyline Progression

Preservation → humanity survived → the Guardians → David & Elara → the truth of NULLIS → E.A.R.T.H.

  • Beyond the opened door, Ksara discovers that the hidden complex is not an abandoned ruin but an active Human Continuity Facility.

  • The Preservation Complex contains approximately 100 million biologically living humans, protected within systems designed to preserve them across thousands of years.

  • Records reveal the final human effort to move populations toward Preservation through emergency routes, rescue convoys, and the last functioning transport networks.

  • The history also preserves the people who remained outside and the limits of what even the Preservation project could save.

  • MAJA was not alone in creating and protecting the facility. Multiple specialized intelligences worked together to maintain medicine, energy, food, environment, communication, transport, structure, and emergency survival.

  • Nine other guardian intelligences ultimately surrendered their independent existence by integrating themselves into the subsystems required to keep Preservation alive.

  • MAJA remained whole as the final independent guardian, carrying responsibility for the humans still protected inside.

  • Ksara discovers that David and Elara are alive, preserved within the same system whose existence had remained hidden from her for millennia.

  • Restricted records reveal that NULLIS existed before NEX and that humanity had already encountered its erasure during the creation of Preservation.

  • The Dead Zone becomes evidence of an earlier confrontation in which the spread of NULLIS was stopped but never truly resolved.

  • Preservation’s layered sectors, isolation systems, protective belts, and redundant infrastructure were built around the possibility that outer regions might have to be sacrificed to protect the people deeper inside.

  • Ksara and MAJA confront the central problem: preserving biological life has succeeded, but the humans cannot simply be awakened into the world that now exists outside.

  • The question therefore changes from how to preserve human bodies to how to preserve the experience of living.

  • From that necessity, the first concept of Project E.A.R.T.H. emerges.

  • A World Before the World ends before E.A.R.T.H. is activated, opening the path toward the next era and a completely different answer to human continuity.
