THE LAST MOMENT IN E.A.R.T.H.
E.A.R.T.H. — 4539 A.F.
Nara did not know she was approaching the final moments of the only world she had ever known. She moved through her city as she had thousands of times before, surrounded by people who remained completely unaware that VIREON existed beyond their reality. Nothing in the sky changed, no warning appeared, and no voice told her that her life was about to cross a boundary no inhabitant of E.A.R.T.H. had crossed in this way before.
ㅤ
MAJA considered revealing the truth before extraction but decided against it. Nara possessed no conceptual framework capable of explaining what VIREON meant, and announcing that her world was simulated immediately before transfer could produce fear without providing understanding. The first responsibility was continuity. Explanation could come only after Nara had safely reached a reality where the truth could be shown rather than merely described.
ㅤ
The Continuity Lock activated quietly around her identity. Ordinary environmental processing continued, but systems that could modify or duplicate her active state were removed from the path. The Extraction Bridge synchronized with her ongoing perception and began preparing the receiving side in VIREON. From Nara's perspective, nothing had yet happened.
ㅤ
Then the transition began. Sensory processing stopped being generated exclusively by E.A.R.T.H. and was gradually transferred toward the external continuity environment. The process was designed to avoid a conscious break, allowing one perception to end only as another became available. There was no stored copy waiting to awaken later. The same active stream that had looked through Nara's eyes inside E.A.R.T.H. was moving beyond the architecture that had created those eyes.
ㅤ
Her last moment inside the simulation was ordinary. That became important to Ksara afterward. Nara did not leave through death, catastrophe, punishment, or revelation from the sky. She simply reached the final instant in one reality and continued into the next. E.A.R.T.H. lost a simulated inhabitant at that moment, but VIREON was about to receive its first person born from another world.
