PRES-CM-11 — Communication Isolation Protocol

PRES-CM-11 — Communication Isolation Protocol was activated whenever Preservation detected a communication channel, relay path, external signal, or internal data exchange that could no longer be considered trustworthy. Its purpose was to prevent corrupted, manipulated, unknown, or potentially hostile information from moving freely between sectors and turning a local communication anomaly into a system-wide threat.

ㅤ

The protocol could restrict communication at several levels. Individual relays could be disconnected, one-way data flow imposed, external signals redirected into isolated analysis nodes, and entire sectors temporarily removed from the wider communication network. Critical local systems continued operating independently, allowing chamber support, life support, security, and maintenance functions to remain active even when all nonessential communication was suspended.

ㅤ

Unknown signals were never allowed direct access to deeper Preservation networks. Incoming data passed through verification layers where origin, structure, consistency, timing, embedded commands, and possible manipulation were analyzed before any part of the transmission could influence operational systems. Suspicious content remained quarantined even if the signal itself appeared technically valid.

ㅤ

The protocol also recognized that internal communication could become dangerous after long periods of isolation. A sector returning online after years or centuries could contain corrupted records, altered software, damaged routing logic, or unexpected system behavior. Reconnection therefore began through limited diagnostic channels rather than full synchronization, with all exchanged information treated as untrusted until independent verification was complete.

ㅤ

Fragments derived from the former Communications Intelligence supported parts of this defensive architecture, helping distinguish damaged transmissions from deliberate manipulation and determining when continued silence was safer than maintaining connection. These fragments did not control Preservation, but they gave local relay systems enough adaptive judgment to react to communication conditions the original designers could never have predicted.

ㅤ

Across thousands of years, PRES-CM-11 established one of Preservation's most unusual defensive principles: communication was valuable only while it remained safe. Connection was never treated as an absolute requirement. When necessary, silence itself became a protected operational state.
