CHAPTER XVI - Dawn Again
✦ Year: 3502 ◉ Location: City of VIREON / Inner Threshold
The sun did not rise as it once did.
It was not born from fire.
It made no sound.
No horizon ignited. No celestial body climbed across the fractured heavens above Earth. The old mechanics of morning no longer governed the world beyond the gate of VIREON. Dawn arrived differently there, emerging not from above but from within, as though illumination itself had finally detached from the laws that once restrained it.
Light awakened softly beneath their feet first.
