Game Description
The Pioneers: Surviving Desolation is a science-fiction survival, simulation and strategy game set on Io, the innermost major moon of Jupiter. After the Io-1 mission crashes on the surface, players take control of three specialists selected from a larger crew and must use their different skills to survive extreme temperatures, volcanic activity, seismic events, magnetic storms and other environmental hazards. The damaged spacecraft becomes the foundation of a new survival base. Players gather resources, construct station modules and engineering systems, craft equipment, produce food and carefully monitor the health and oxygen needs of each crew member. Rovers and drones allow exploration of Io's different biomes, while multiple victory conditions, randomized crews and changing environmental threats are designed to give each mission a different strategic challenge.
