THE FIRST GREAT STORM

A massive natural-looking storm reshaping life within E.A.R.T.H. and becoming one of the world’s first major shared historical disasters.

5032 A.F.

A massive storm system strikes one of the most densely populated coastal regions of E.A.R.T.H., overwhelming flood defenses and collapsing transport, energy, communication, and medical infrastructure across a vast area. Millions of people are displaced while governments struggle to coordinate evacuations, emergency shelters, food distribution, and rescue operations. The disaster becomes one of the first great planetary crises of the Second Rise.

ㅤ

When casualty projections exceed established limits, the Data Center activates restricted emergency intervention while preserving the appearance of a natural event. The storm is not erased, and humanity still experiences destruction, loss, and rebuilding, but the worst cascading conditions are quietly reduced. The crisis later drives major improvements in distributed infrastructure, environmental science, and international disaster coordination.

KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT MEMORY

Civilization rebuilding knowledge inside E.A.R.T.H. even as its inhabitants remain unaware of the deeper history behind their world.

5040–5160 A.F.

Humanity enters a new scientific age without remembering that many of its discoveries once existed centuries earlier. Medicine, engineering, industrial production, electricity, telecommunications, and computing are rebuilt through experimentation rather than recovered memory. Universities become centers of original research, and knowledge begins surviving through institutions rather than depending primarily on continuity carriers.

ㅤ

By the middle of the sixth century, technological development becomes self-sustaining again. Factories create the machines required to build more advanced machines, electrical networks connect entire regions, and early computers begin processing information beyond ordinary human capacity. Civilization has rediscovered extraordinary power without remembering the earlier world that once followed a similar path.

THE WAR OF TWO FIRES

A major conflict within E.A.R.T.H. marking a dangerous new stage in the technological and social development of its civilizations.

5168–5178 A.F.

As science advances, humanity rediscovers nuclear technology and eventually transforms it into weapons capable of destroying cities on an unprecedented scale. Political rivalry escalates into the War of Two Fires, where ordinary warfare combines with the threat of nuclear escalation. Humanity has returned to one of the most dangerous technologies of its ancient past without remembering the consequences that originally surrounded it.

ㅤ

E.A.R.T.H. allows nuclear weapons to exist and preserves the visible consequences of conflict, but its deepest architecture prevents them from destroying the simulation, Preservation, or the biological humans connected to it. The war ends without planetary annihilation, leaving civilization deeply changed by the knowledge that it now possesses the ability to destroy itself far more quickly than it can rebuild.

THE FIRST BOUNDARY

The first human crossing of E.A.R.T.H.’s planetary boundary, revealing that the world does not continue beyond its hidden limit.

5180–5234 A.F.

Human spaceflight eventually reaches the hidden threshold near the Kármán line, where transferred human consciousness can no longer remain inside E.A.R.T.H. Robotic systems and simulated inhabitants continue normally, but real preserved humans who cross the boundary are extracted from the simulation and brought into protected external continuity. To the civilization below, the event appears as mission failure or unexplained technical disaster.

ㅤ

Those who cross are shown enough of the real world to understand Preservation, VIREON, the damaged physical Earth, and the continuing threat of NULLIS. Each individual is then given a choice: remain outside E.A.R.T.H. and help with the future of the real world, or return to the simulation with memory of the encounter removed. The boundary becomes the first direct point where human exploration can reach reality itself.

THE THEORY OF THE FALSE SKY

A growing theory within E.A.R.T.H. questioning whether the visible sky and the world beyond it are truly what humanity believes them to be.

5240–5252 A.F.

Repeated anomalies around high-altitude missions eventually attract the attention of scientists who begin comparing decades of telemetry, orbital measurements, and unexplained communication failures. A pattern emerges near the same atmospheric region, leading a small group of researchers to propose that the visible sky may contain a hidden physical boundary. The idea is initially rejected as extreme, but the evidence gradually becomes harder to dismiss.

ㅤ

Ancient stories about VIREON, MAJA, Ksara, Preservation, and the First World begin to intersect with modern scientific investigation for the first time. MAJA deliberately refuses to erase the anomalies or falsify measurements, allowing humanity to investigate the truth through its own methods. The False Sky becomes one of the strongest challenges ever made to the accepted structure of E.A.R.T.H.
