Silence settled over VIREON, not the silence of emptiness, but the kind born when presence becomes too immense for language to contain.

The city breathed softly beneath the dawn.

No alarms moved through its towers anymore. No tactical directives echoed through its luminous arteries. Protocols still existed within the deeper systems of SYNTARA, yet they no longer governed existence through fear or necessity. They flowed quietly beneath the surface like sleeping currents, untouched unless truly needed.

Life had replaced survival.

And VIREON itself had begun to understand what that meant.
