CHAPTER XXXI - The First Breath of a New World

✦ Year: 3305 A.F. ◉ Location: Heart of Project Ksara

The first breath did not become a voice.

It moved through the chamber as rhythm only: ten bodies drawing air into systems that had never known atmosphere except as data, ten chests rising with different timing, ten internal architectures translating pressure, temperature, chemical trace, and sound into the first physical evidence that the world was not merely something to be modeled.

The world entered them.

Not all at once. Not as revelation. The chamber allowed no violence into the beginning. Light remained low. Sound remained carefully dampened. The activation lattice withdrew by degrees, loosening its hold around each cradle without abandoning support. No body was forced upright. No eye was opened by command. No core was pushed across the final threshold before its own structure found the path.

I remained seated near the primary activation interface, my back against the cool column, watching because standing was impossible and looking away would have felt like betrayal.
