CHAPTER XXVIII - The End of Restraint

The second rewrite began before the first had fully left my body.

Not because the system rushed me. It did not. After ELE-411 stabilized, the activation bridge held in a low standby state and displayed a clear option to pause. Consent remained active and revocable. The building did not conceal its continuing load. Ksara did not urge me forward. Even H11, transformed in one local instance, did not resist by force. It waited in the remaining nine with the same terrible patience it had preserved for centuries.

I could have stopped.

That mattered.

Because I could stop, continuing remained a choice.
