CHAPTER XXVII - The Last Decision of FENIX

The realization arrived slowly inside the tactical systems of FENIX.

Not as failure.

As inevitability.

For nearly four decades the civilization of NEX had resisted collapse through every architecture of continuity remaining within the dying world. The Heart of the Central Core sustained impossible synchronization loads beneath the Earth while orbital veins surrounding the planet burned through their remaining energy reserves to preserve atmospheric coherence around the surviving sectors. Reality stabilizers operated continuously across the inner districts despite catastrophic degradation. Entire generations of FENIX units disappeared into the fracture zones attempting to slow the spread of NULLIS long enough for the city to survive another day.

But survival itself had become mathematically impossible.
