CHAPTER XXV - The Final Synchronization

The final synchronization did not begin with sound.

It began with light.

Not the sterile brightness of laboratory systems. Not the cold illumination of machines performing one more sequence before extinction. The light that moved through the Ksara Core Chamber that night was slower, softer, and almost hesitant, as if even the remaining systems of Delta understood that something irreversible was about to occur beneath the dying world.

Far above the chamber, the Earth continued its long collapse.

Storm systems moved across dead continents. Atmospheric processors failed one by one across regions no human voice had named in years. The last orbital arrays still capable of transmission drifted through darkness, sending unread signals into fractured networks that no longer possessed receivers. Oceans pressed against drowned cities. Ash moved through valleys where forests had once breathed. Beneath it all, in the buried heart of Delta, two people stood before the future they would never enter.
