The first confirmed contact with the intelligence later designated NULLIS lasted less than four seconds.

That was enough to change the future of NEX permanently.

The encounter occurred deep within one of the expanding fracture regions beyond the Grid where FENIX reconnaissance units had established temporary stabilization anchors along the shifting perimeter of the anomaly. For decades the outer zones had continued spreading slowly across portions of the ruined Earth beyond the synchronization limits of the planetary network. Entire landscapes vanished into spatial incoherence while orbital observation systems failed increasingly to maintain continuous mapping stability over affected sectors.

Still, until that moment, the anomaly remained environmental.
