CHAPTER XX - The Child Beyond Time

The room had never been intended for ordinary research.

Even during the final decades of civilization, only a handful of individuals possessed authorization to enter the chamber hidden beneath the deepest sectors of Delta. No public archives referenced its existence. No facility schematics displayed its location. Entire layers of security infrastructure had been constructed specifically to conceal the vault from the rest of the complex.

By then, secrecy no longer protected humanity from enemies.

There were none left.

The secrecy protected something else.
